✖ CHARACTER INFORMATION
NAME: Yuzuki Seo (NOTE: I'll typically refer to her by her last name rather than her given name, as literally only one person calls her "Yuzuki" in the entire canon.)
CANON: Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun
CANON POINT: Chapter 62
CHARACTER AGE: 16-17; I default to 17 because she should be that age by now in canon.
HISTORY: Wikia. As she's from a 4-koma slice of life series that doesn't even really have an overarching plot, the tl;dr version is that she's just a regular high school student doing regular high school student things, like playing sports, terrorizing classmates and going on retreats.

She's first introduced in the series as Chiyo's popular friend, when Nozaki decides that he needs some inspiration for a new character. When he sees her, however, he realizes that she's basically just this obnoxious person who is rude as hell to everyone (and not even on purpose), and he manages to create a male character based off of her. Her other primary role is to be a foil to Wakamatsu, whom she terrorizes on a daily basis and whose secret identity (Lorelei) he happens to be infatuated with, though he doesn't realize they're the same person. She is also friends with Kashima, the Prince of the school, and is her singing instructor. She's not aware of Nozaki's role as a manga artist, so she (as well as Kashima) is kept in the dark with regards to most of the series' shenanigans.

PERSONALITY: If you ask Seo, she'll tell you that she's perfect. As far as she's concerned, she's considerate of others, good at giving advice, always asked to help the other clubs out, is perfectly aware of her surroundings, and she can read the atmosphere. She's almost too perfect. An awesome chick.

The truth, and the easiest way to summarize Seo's personality, is that she's a "KY", meaning that she's the oblivious type who can't read situations properly and has a tendency to offend others without realizing it. While the majority of her classmates and friends are fully aware of this, her best friend, Chiyo, doesn't seem to take notice and instead thinks that she would make a cute character in Nozaki's shoujo manga. Instead, she becomes the inspiration for a rude male side character, and when Hori finally meets her, he notes that she has "multiple traits of a popular guy in shoujo manga", namely that she's athletic, intellectual, has a rough & wild side, and is rather childish. While her side character becomes a fan favorite, the inspiration is considerably less well-received.

However, despite how offputting Seo's personality is to most, she is still somehow pretty popular among her classmates, who often come to her for advice and to ask for help with various sports clubs, namely baseball and boys & girls basketball. Although she's proven to be good at sports, she has absolutely zero sportsmanship and is extremely violent to the point that the boys team is completely terrified of her. Seo's being asked to help out time and time again is simply to teach others the importance of teamwork and what to do when facing obnoxious opponents.

Her entire existence is basically an example of What Not To Do.

That's not to say that Seo is incapable of being friendly and caring. Though she tends to be rather brash, she does care about her friends, and is actually pretty devoted to them. Nozaki, having no concept of how female friendships work, assumed that Chiyo became friends with Seo after having an intense rivalry—when really, they became friends because they sat by each other in class and just started talking. Wakamatsu, the first year who receives the brunt of her bullying, doesn't realize that she's not completely horrible and is oblivious in his own way. He complains to Nozaki about how she always asks him to hang out and go places with her, and buys him gifts, and takes him out to eat, and why is it always him?? without realizing that it's probably because she likes him. But considering that she also constantly assaults him with the basketball whenever they're on the court and is the cause of his stress, it's no wonder he doesn't really see the good in her.

In contrast to her tomboyish demeanor, she is a member of the choir club and even has a nickname: "Lorelei of the Glee Club", aptly named after a siren who lures sailors in with her beautiful voice—and destroys them. Seo is fully aware of the fact that many boys at school have fallen for Lorelei, and because of that, she chooses to keep her identity a secret... because she loves crushing their dreams when they realize she's the one with this angelic singing voice. Of course, there is also another side of Seo that you rarely get to see, which is when she's preparing for competitions. Her fellow club members dress her up to make her look more ladylike—complete with socks—and she settles down for awhile. To other schools, Seo is "The Little Mermaid of Roman High" because she doesn't speak. When she gets roped into pretending to be Mikoshiba's girlfriend when he lies to another girl about having one, she's mild-mannered and actually behaves for the most part—at least, until he hands her his bag, which she promptly throws away.

Even when she's helping people, it can be a trying experience. It's raining and you forgot your umbrella? Get ready to have one thrown at you to use. Want to learn how to sing better? Get on your knees and beg, and be prepared to give up in a year when you realize there's no hope for you. Want a fake girlfriend? Hope you like your things being tossed aside like last week's garbage.

Though it's hard to pinpoint if she's actually a decent human being or not, Nozaki is certain of one thing: "Seo is Seo."

ABILITIES: Seo is a typical high school student. While she doesn't have any particular special abilities or powers, she does seem to be skilled in parkour (as seen when fleeing from her teachers) and possesses superhuman strength on the basketball court, both which are typically played for comedic effect more than anything else.
SINS & VIRTUES: PRIDE, wrath, sloth; charity, kindness, patience.
